Happy New Year – Love Those Navy SEALs!

Welcome everyone to the New Years Blog Hop. There are a ton of prizes you can win, which I’ve described below. In addition, someone on this blog will win a set of dog tags (3 covers of my SEAL books) and my new release, Fallen SEAL Legacy.

But that’s not all. EVERYONE who leaves their email address wins something: either SEAL Encounter, the prequel/short to Accidental SEAL, or SEAL Endeavor, the prequel/short to Fallen SEAL Legacy. Yup. Everyone!

Your mission, if you so choose, is to leave a comment here on this blog, with your email address. We’re sorry, but the Grand Prize #3 SWAG Pack offered on the site that is won internationally may have postage charges added.

You have a lot of other great blogs to follow and enter for freebies, so this post will be short. Here are the 10 things a Navy SEAL would NEVER SAY.

1.  Let’s go hang out at the mall.
2.  I’m not a risk taker. I like it safe.
3.  I’m not really a great swimmer and don’t much care for the water.
4.  I have a replica DOR bell on my keychain, just to bring back the fond memories.
5.  Getting wet and sandy is my idea of fun on a Saturday night.
6.  I sometimes have trouble making quick decisions.
7.  I can’t live without 8 hours sleep every night.
8.  I’m just as happy reading a book as getting into a fight.
9.  Will you pack my chute for me? I’m just too tired.
10. I don’t ever think about the sacrifices my family makes for me at home.

Can you add to this list? Which one is your favorite?

Good luck with the grand prizes, listed below:

1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet
2nd Grand Prize: A $300 Amazon or B&N Gift Card
3rd Grand Prize: A Swag Pack that contains paperbacks, ebooks, 50+ bookmarks, cover flats, magnets, pens, coffee cozies, and more!

    1. Shelly, you and I would probably say that, but no, sadly, probably not a SEAL. Not that they don't read, but action is where they live, and then, only when it's smart. Thanks for stopping by. Your Endeavor is on its way.

  1. Like them all and they are very True 🙂

    Happy New Year

Thanks for the being a part of the hop

    (email following & US resident)

  2. Very funny list and they all are far from the truth. #6 is my fave LOL … My add to this list would be 'I will not help, because I do not care.'
I have a healthy respect for all in the army, especially for the special forces.
Happy New Year Sharon! I am looking forward to your next books.

    seelk67 at gmail dot com

    1. Eniko, great to see you here. I agree with you, all the special forces of every branch, are special and they do so much. All countries, too. Your Endeavor is on its way.

  3. Sharon, the more I read about you on your Blogs the more I admire you. I am so tickled that we have 'met'.

Wishing you only the best in life and continued success in this New Year. I know it is going to be an amazing year for you.

I have ALL your books, but wanted to stop by and say hello

  4. "Do these camos make my butt look big?"

Cute post Sharon. And I would love a copy of SEAL Endeavor for my Kindle. Happy new year and congrats on your success!

  5. Great list! My favorite is #2. Marina got here first with the 'make my butt look big' line, so my mind's a blank now!
    Happy New Year, Sharon!

    1. You are so right. It does matter hugely who is beside them, and they know it 100% of the time. Thanks for showing up today. Good luck with the grand prize drawing. Enjoy your Endeavor!

  6. Great blog, Sharon! Happy New Year!

I'm guessing a SEAL wouldn't say "I only want to work an 8-hour day, no overtime, and I expect weekends and holidays off."

    God Bless our troops!

    lori at sailmakai dot com

    1. Lori, you are so right about that. They don't get paid enough for what they do every day for us. All of them, from all over the world. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Endeavor.

  7. Ha! Number one is my favorite by far! Thanks for the giveaway. I already have both Endeavor and Encounter. Thanks again and happy new year!

  8. This list is hilarious Sharon, I can just see a SEAL saying any of things…NOT.
I thought of one too, “I always pack my moisturiser, for long trips”
Love the SEAL books and hope you write many more in 2013 and beyond!
Happy New Year from Aussie land!

    1. I should probably add I already bought SEAL Encounter on Dec 11th, so I would love to get a copy of SEAL Endeavor! I've also added Accidental SEAL and Fallen SEAL Legacy to my wish list!!

    2. Thanks, Theresa! Endeavor is on its way. Thanks for participating in the hop.

I agree, "Can we just go lay on the beach" would not be something they would say. If they sleep, they crash, right?

      Happy New Year.

  9. Stopping by to say hello. I liked number 2 "I'm not a risk taker and 6 I sometimes have trouble making quick decisions. Gotta love those military men and women and all they do for our country.
Do so love a book with a good old military hero.

  10. I have to say this one is my favorite of the ten: I'm not a risk taker. I like it safe.

I KNOW there is a lot more that can be added to your list, but at the moment nothing is coming to mind. 🙁

Thanks for the giveaway. But I already have Seal Encounter and Seal Endeavor. I'm just waiting to have time to read them.

  11. Loved that list I would say number 1 but then not too many men anyway would want to at least not my DH LOL.

Here's one I think I will call in sick today, I don't feel like going on this mission.

    Dawna N.

  12. Looks like this has been a success Sharon, I thought i would not get to the end of the comments lol
I liked them all but got to pick I'm not a risk taker and like to play it safe.
    Thanks Sharon great blog

    1. Thanks Kath. So great seeing you here. Happy New Year and so happy to have your support! Don't forget to enter the other blogs and put your email address in so you can win some prizes!!

  13. LOL, I love Navy Seals, this Retired Army Girl says they are kiss ass. hee hee One thing about Navy Seals is that the words "I Can't" do not exist in their vocabulary.

So to add to your list of what you will never hear a Navy Seal say is "I Can't"

    Happy New Years

    1. Ronda,
Thank you for your service. I'd love to talk to you sometime about your experiences. I get the feeling you're a little on the "kick ass" scale too!!

Hope you like my portrayal of these brave men. Like everything in fiction, we use lots of creative license, but the basics are all there. Anyone who wears a uniform is a hero to me. Thank you and Happy New Year!

    2. Awe, thank you Sharon for using your talent to write about your heroes. I truly loved serving and I even married a Navy guy and let me tell you he teases this Army girl every day – LOL We both could tell you some stories that would make you laugh. I look forward to reading your books.

  14. LOL my mother and aunt were in ROTC in high school in the tropics and learned how to pack their chutes, sky dive, rapel, and quick drop in the jungle. So, asking someone else to pack a chute is kinda funny to me after hearing all their stories.

    1. What role models, Michel!! My mom could swing a mean knife in the kitchen and could break some windows with her high octive voice, but man oh man what stories you must have. Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy your Endeavor. Happy New Year.

  15. My favorites are #2 and #9!!! Love that list.

I have several of your books on my TBR list I hope I get to them soon! I love a sexy Alpha Military man!!

  16. How about: "You look cold, honey. Why don't you put on some more clothes?"

Thanks for the fun post. Your series looks awesome. So glad I hopped over!

    jessigage at gmail dot com

    1. Jessi, that's a great one to add to the list. LOL.
I'm so happy we found each other. Please come back. I'll be doing more blogs and posting upcoming events. Enjoy your Endeavor.

  17. Hahaha Great list. My fav is #2 I'm not a risk taker. I like it safe. I dont know what to add to that list. How about "There's trouble? Someone Quick, Call the cops!" lol Oh well I tried.

  18. Those are funny..may have to disagree about the sand one..a little wetness on the sand with someone special might be right up their…my first thought was.."Do you these pants make my butt look big?"or "No seconds for me, Im watching my weight."…"I can't do that, these are my good pants.".."Im not working out today, I had a long night."Hope these make you at least smile. Hope your new year is full of fun adventures, laughter, and warm memories,

  19. Those are funny and two of them describe me:

    2. I'm not a risk taker. I like it safe.
    7. I can't live without 8 hours sleep every night.

Since I already got a book, 2 posters, dog tags and A LOT of signed bookmarks from you I`ll enter only for the grind prize so there`s a bigger chance for other fans to have some fun too! 🙂

  20. I made a goal to be kinder to myself this year. I often do things for other people to the detriment of myself.
